This is the official spot for discussing who will take what assignments. I'll also mention that if no one else wants to claim it, I would be happy to lead discussion on John Cage. Does anybody else want to do the Band? I'd really like to.

Wilson looks pretty interesting. Would anyone like to work on it with me?

I'd love to do Randy Newman if someone else would be interested in that...especially if we could go on 11/6 and not 11/13.

Or would somebody like to do Robert Johnson over the Band? I'll do either.

I'm not sure how we're dividing the Bangs book, but if we're doing it by the "parts" in the Table of Contents, I'd love to do the one on punk ("Part Five: Slaying the Children, Burying the Dead, Signs of Life") or the one on pre-punk ("Part Two: Blowing It Up").

George,
If you want to work on Robert Johnson, I will be happy to pair up with you. I've always wanted to know more about him.

Okay, I just saw that we're dividing the Bangs into pairs of essays. In that case, I'd do either
a) The ones on Richard Hell and Peter Laughner, with the possible addition of "The White Noise Supremacists"
or b) "Of Pop and Pies and Fun" and "James Taylor Marked for Death".

I'd be interested in

1) Bangs - Chapter 5, "The Clash"

or Chapter 2, "James Taylor Marked for Death"

or I could do Wilson, if I needed to.
